About ENxLINK

WHY?

SMEs and startups grow by bringing products and services to market, and by acquiring new technologies and business capabilities that strengthen their competitiveness. Both depend on building effective connections, yet creating those connections — especially across borders — is difficult to do alone. ENxLINK exists to bridge this gap, enabling UK and Japanese companies to connect, collaborate, and turn cross-border opportunities into real business outcomes.

WHO?

  • UK and Japanese SMEs and startups
  • Not just selling into new markets, and not just sourcing technology
  • Needing to address both as part of the same business challenge

WHAT?

  • Selling into cross-border markets
  • Sourcing complementary technologies or capabilities from those markets
  • Enabling both through a single collaborative approach

HOW?

  • We work across both go-to-market and technology sourcing
  • These are explored together, not as separate tracks
  • We create direct connections and stay involved through delivery

Why ENxLINK, and why me

  • ENxLINK was not created out of a single success story
It emerged from years of working at the boundary between technology, research, and business, where collaboration is often discussed enthusiastically but rarely carried through to execution.
  • Experience across global R&D, technology management, and delivery
Over the past two decades, I have worked in Japan, the UK, and Europe, across large corporations, research organisations, SMEs, and startups.
  • Focus on connections across organisations, cultures, and technical domains
Much of my work has involved bridging gaps that sit between teams, companies, and countries rather than within them.
  • A practical understanding of why cross-border collaboration fails
In practice, collaboration rarely fails because of technology alone. More often, it breaks down due to misaligned expectations, timing, organisational constraints, and a lack of ownership after initial introductions.
  • ENxLINK reflects this reality
Instead of offering advice or introductions in isolation, ENxLINK stays involved through execution — helping companies test assumptions, navigate constraints, and make informed decisions about whether to proceed, adapt, or stop.
